Fans reminisce about watching Santana collapsing onstage

The stage’s collapse shocked those who had come to witness Santana as well as performed earlier from Earth, Wind and Fire.

“He kind of sat down by the drums and fell backwards and then all hell broke loose on stage,” Steve Oshinsky of West Bloomfield reported to The Detroit Free Press, part of the USA TODAY Network. Oshinsky is located in the 10th row close to the center of the stage. He said Santana had been “soaked.” “He was drenched the whole time.”

The music soon stopped, and medical staff rushed to the front of the venue, Oshinsky said. They set up an opaque black screen for privacy, switched on the lights in the stage and asked the audience to go away.

Santana was not showing any signs of struggle

Barnas claimed it was scorching hot, but prior to the collapse, she had not seen any indications suggesting that Santana as well as Earth, Wind and Fire struggled in the heat.

She also said that his energy was as high as that of his songs. as impressive as an event he played in the venue in the year 2019.

“Carlos was on fire,” she declared. “He had just performed a solo before that and he was great.”

Vrionis stated in an interview at the time of the incident that Santana was undergoing the “unscheduled heart procedure,” but did not elaborate on the procedure.
